Why not standard polar 4.7uF electrolytic capacitors? Are LOW-ESR or standard capacitors needed?

I have a question.
I did classic PRE-POT pro-sound mod (solder L and R to "5" and "4" instead of "2" and "3" pins)
then output it to 1/8 mini-jack WITHOUT 4.7uF 16V bipolar electrolytic capacitors

But bass is still weak.

Do I need to re-solder L and R to this points WITH 4.7uF 16V bipolar electrolytic capacitors at the end, right?
