Short update on this: the project is going live soon (I hope), but here's a small update - a weird little NES-samples-tune that might end up on the tape:

I made a drumkit to be used with the Roland MC-101 Groovebox a while back, in the Fantasy Console Pico-8. I thought maybe others would be interested in it too, so I've put together a small ZIP-file with the WAV:s and the MC-101 project file.

If you own a MC-101 you can load the Project file in a Drum track and use it as a percussion set. It might possibly also work on a MC-707, but I have not tried that.

You can download it here:
https://southpoleradio.com/2020/07/13/f … 8-drumkit/

(If you don't own a MC-101 you can still use the WAV:s.)

I can really recommend the Pico-8 as a noise-producer. It's a small fun thing that can be really powerful. I made some covers of GOTO80 tracks earlier - you can check some of them out here:

Let me know what you think.

Small "update". Here is a "Japanese noise"-inspired lofi-track - very much different from the other, more up-beat, tunes:

Dark and strange! I'm not sure myself if this track goes on the tape or not - but as a pledger, at least you can be part of that decision. smile

Hi, I'm new to the forums as well.
holy moly your sounds are very welcome and unique. This isn't minimalist anything, it's maximalist.

Thank you so much! That's very kind of you, and helps me be inspired to create more. smile

I know it's not for everyone - but what is?

Some more info on the Kickstarter album process:

* All pledgers will be able to give their input on what COLOR the tape should be.
* All pledgers will also have the opportunity to help choose what tracks should go on the tape. I might release some "secret" tracks for pledgers only...

Hi all,

New here and shamelessly start with some spam, sorry for that. :)
I intend to run a Kickstarter for an upcoming album, "Crunchy". Pre-launch here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dr … sette-tape

Most of the tracks on the tape are available for free listening here:

I have recently started to create a small home-studio setup, and currently use a Roland MC-101, Behringer Crave and Arturia Microfreak. I also use the softsynths Babylon and Memorymoon's really cool ME-80 (Yamaha CS80 "clone"). I also use C64 samples (and looking at aquiring a MSSIAH for future use) + samples from the fantasy console Pico-8.

I've always been influenced by Japanese noise (but don't do anything similar), 80's Italo disco (but it doesn't sound like that either) and minimalistic techno (which I might come closest to). But this album is 45 minutes of weirdness, chiptune-like stuff that I hope a few of you might enjoy...

So there... :)
