We are SC3 – the Southern California Classic Collectors – a videogame collector's group serving the Metropolitan Los Angeles, San Diego and Inland Empire areas. We've got a soft spot for the "classic" days of the early 1980s, but we love games of all eras, from Pong to PlayStation 3. Come and play!

SC3 is once again teaming up with Nucleus, an art gallery and store in the northern L.A. area, to bring you a blowout arcade and console event. The party will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2011, from 12 noon to 12 midnight, at the Nucleus gallery in Alhambra, CA. Admission to the event is $10 if you pre-register online or $15 at the door. Visit the Nucleus event registration page to order your tickets.

Live music, featuring 8-bit and chiptune artists 8 Bit Weapon, ComputeHer and virt, will begin late in the evening. Video game auctioneer GameGavel.com will be present to raffle off vintage gaming items. Traditional SC3 attractions, including '80s music and videos, a video game trading room, 30+ classic arcade games set on FREE PLAY, dozens of consoles and live "Rock Band" competitions will also appear.

Chiptune artist ENCORD will be a in-studio guest on the Video Game Music Show this Friday 8/26.  He will be doing a live interview and a live performance. Tune in!!

The Glowing Stars

There are many chiptune artists, but not a lot of chiptune bands. The Glowing Stars — guitarist/vocalist Lizzie Cuevas and drummer/Game Boy

synth programmer Matt Payne — combines the clicky waveforms and perfect arpeggios of 8-bit processors with the fury of live drums and

distorted guitars. Influenced as much by Frank Zappa and Freddie Mercury as Mega Man and Metroid, the band’s wistfully emotional lyrics are

more boy-meets-girl than Game-Boy-meets-end-boss. With customized game hardware sharing the stage with 100-watt half-stacks,

The Glowing Stars are half Weezer, half Wario – in other words, utterly unique.http://www.theglowingstars.com/
