Doesn't compile with Teensy 2.0 sad I've ordered a few of these after I've seen Teensyboy port by NoizeInABox... sure I also have 2 3.2 and 2 LC, but that's kind of a pain :-/

I'll try to see if I can fix the compile errors, and will send information somewhere (probably on GitHub?), but as I suck, I'll probably give up before everything's fixed...

I ordered them from Alibaba straight in Belgium, and except for the delivery delay, there's no problem ordering from them directly. Why don't you?

Hello,

I don't know if i should make a new thread or reuse this one. I also have trouble making an arduinoboy. Actually, everything seems to work, but neither LSDJ nor mGB seem to receive data.
I've made a little video of my current setup:

I don't know if it's the same problem but i had some screen problem when i setup my backlight on an older Gameboy.

See video there:

Ok i see! Thanks... I was thinking about chopping off a portion of it, didn't think of actually "opening the square in the third dimension". I guess I'll do that.

Remains the question of the characteristics of the actual LEDs...

Indeed the RGB version has ribbon cable, not classic wires, so there is no need to carve into the frame...

Hello! I have a ton of gameboys DMG laying around and even 10 replacement lcd boards plus screens, and recently bought 2 RGB x3 from Kitsch Bent. As the tutorial is still not there, and I don't wanna bother Matt too much, I have a couple of questions...
- is it possible to put the LCD frame without de soldering the lcd cable from the board?
- does anyone know the rating of the LEDs that are in the backlight, so I can calculate my resistors without burning them (I didn't order the potentiometers with them, but think I'll power them in a weird way, so I need to know the exact ratings)

Thanks in DMG ('cos I'm not talking about GBA.... Yeah, it's an awful joke)

I can't try with 4 gameboys because i only have 2 flash carts, but following the exact instructions on Low-Gain's Flickr, i tested with 2 gameboys and LSDJ, and changed the cable to all 3 plugs of the DMG-07, and all of them worked.
https://instagram.com/p/2dpwjuhdwg/?taken-by=thanerd that's my final result.

I don't have proper tools either for removing the chip, and one of the resistors (between the chip and the wires blue connectors). I did what suggested Low Gain in the comments: add loads of solder around all of the chip's connector and trying to push the legs trough the holes. Then, i used a vacuum pump to take out as much solder as I could so that the legs basically were no longer surrounded by solder. Then i used a tiny flat screwdiver to pull the legs out. So i did that with all legs on one side, and for the other side, i tiled back and forth the chip about ten times until the legs eventually broke.

Last step was to repeat the "add way too much solder/vacuum pump" for each leg.

As a final cleanup process, i heated each pad from a side of the circuit board, and used vacuum pump from the opposite side.

Now i have to say that i'm all but a pro at soldering... But i like to waste hours ripping components off dead electronics... how funny it is to spend 20 minutes recycling a 0.01€ resistor from a 200€ item that could be eventually repaired :-)
