Week 7: A ROM for showing custom graphics.

This would be really neat with midi input and a supergameboy. Pixel visual sampler anyone? 128 midi notes x two midi channels big_smile

It would be rad to get a player like over there on cmo... sometimes i leave it playing and hear some cool new stuff.

yea.. open dingux should work without needing a port, if they did it right.

I think it might still work?

Sorry, whenever I say that i dont think marc will do a specific feature or not, it just comes from hearing countless user suggestions and using piggy since 2005. No one should ever think that I think an idea is dumb just because I think its not likely to be added. I just try to keep things realistic about whats going to happen in a single developer free software product. Id love to see more robust everything, because piggy is one of my favorite music apps on any platform, but at the end of the day its never going to be reason or fruity loops, or abelton because no one is paying 400$ a seat x 1000 users a year to use it.

Maybe its an abusive relationship, cause Im pretty used to the fuck ups and clicks and other quirks of the problem and see loads of workarounds that wont require massive feature requests.

Hey, I didnt say i was against, just that I didnt understand what was its purpose. When I think of reverse samples and ping pong Im thinking just cheesy backwards drums and bask masked vocal.. so Ill have to give it a try somewhere for the timbral effects..

can anyone explain to me why ping pong is desirable? Im just curious.

Just play it alot if you like it.

Would it be possible to just embrace #2 as soundfont for external file format? It seems like since we are halfway there, and there are already tons of tools for working in this format it makes sense. The dream piggy feature list (in order of crazynesss) would be:
1. import via the browser
2.  Be able to select individual soundfont instruments for importing ( I see it as just another directory level with the first option being ALL and then the list of individual instruments just like browsing a folder).
3. Save piggy instruments as soundfonts for sharing

edit: swapped the last two on second thought.

you can use an adruinoboy and record the notes in realtime:

you wont get pitch bends ore velocity though..

Ehhnn whatever, I probably shouldnt have even responded to the attack in the first place, lets just try to focus and keep the thread on topic.
