Super happy this is going so well!  I'm excited to blare some belligerent thrash at ya'll!  big_smile

This recording is a thank you card to everyone that was part of BRKfest 2014, we love you all!! There'll be a lot more (and better produced!) music from BRK coming up but for now you can listen to this track and remember how, in the words of Boa, "you guys fucking rule!".

Today, beeyotches!  Let's rock and roll all night (and part of everyday, gotta get your beauty rest)!

This is a little article I wrote about sample manipulation in lsdj (focused on harsh noise but the techniques work for whatever) -> http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/13733 … e-in-lsdj/

Unrelated but:

How are you getting the gameboy to recognize the cart? I've not been able to use ONE carts in sp or game cube adapter because it doesn't hit the gba/gb switch.

Are you sure you're not thinking of "Pocket Music"?  The gbc version is pretty cool.  The samples used in the gba version are horribly lofi in a not cool way.

Back into listening to this a lot. Super good.

One of the original and still unequaled chipthrash albums was made with Nanoloop: http://datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/dropping-a-deuce

Grabbing this to check out on my lunch break!  smile

I've noticed that when the tracks were uploaded to Bandcamp, they were a bit compressed in quality and seemed to have lost a lot of low-end bass frequencies. I'm trying to solve this, and I may even delete the album and reupload it in better quality if I find a solution. I uploaded the songs in lossless format, though, so I don't know why this occurred.

Don't worry about that.  The streaming quality on Bandcamp is kinda low but when someone downloads the album they get high quality in whatever format they choose.  wink

As a starting point to learn about lua scripting for Renoise, I used the tool Guru to make control definitions/gui's for mGB.  I've tested these a lot but I'm still not super knowledgeable about mGB so there could be things that don't work like they're supposed to or that I missed all together.  If you're a Renoise user and have the gear to run mGB you can check these out and do some beta testing for me.  smile

First, get Renoise (demo is free):  http://renoise.com

Then get the Guru tool from here (to install just drag the downloaded file onto an open Renoise window and follow the prompts): http://www.renoise.com/tools/guru

Finally, grab the mGB definitions and drop them in your Renoise install folder at ...Scripts\Tools\com.cornbeast.Guru.xrnx\synthdefinitions

Defs are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fbiaoavdjfzq … b3BMi5xZDa

Some notes: all displayed values are in decimal (not hex), there are 5 definitions since Guru can't use multiple midi channels at the same time, the first time you open each definition you'll need to set your midi out device and the proper midi channel, there's not much that can be changed about the way the window looks other than it's height so i've tried to group things in a way that looks sort of symetric and not too ugly tongue

Un-solo is missing though, solo just mutes the other channels.

Ahh I see, still cool and useful.  Un-solo or "toggle solo" would be great tho.
