NEW DOUBLE RELEASE: environmental sound collapse - "fumes of decay" and "e.s.c. is dead"
Get them here http://datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/e-s-c-is-dead and here http://datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/fumes-of-decay !!

Back in 2008 when I first discovered chipmusic, one of the first artists I was drawn to was environmental sound collapse. Anyone that's been involved in the modern chip scene knows the initials e.s.c. well, either as sage voice on the forums, a master visualist, or the ever-changing and impossible to pin down musician. He's been at it since 2001 and has released dozens of albums in all manner of genre and with a stupefying variety of equipment. He's also a great guy and a staff member at Datathrash Recordings.

What you see/hear before you is the final e.s.c. release. The end of an era. The beginning of a new one. The culmination of well over a decade of artistic output. Enjoy and be humbled.

-Arnie

PS: We also bring you a 24 track retrospective of e.s.c.'s catalog hand picked and produced by the man himself. Not to be missed: datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/e-s-c-is-dead

sounds like its pushing 5v over the gamelink pin. If the aboy is self powered you can probably just cut this pin out if you are worried about it. I would think it would only be a problem in a surge situation.

Makes sense.  Since I know current is moving between the arduinoboy and the dmg maybe I could mod it to be powered from the link port (it's a xiwi model, i'll get his take on it too).

I have a backlit dmg that I'm using with an arduinoboy.  The arduinoboy is powered by an ac adapter.  If the arduinoboy is plugged into the dmg (and the power adapter), the backlight stays on (dimly) even when the dmg is turned off.  Should I worry about it or no biggie?

YEEEAAHHuuuhhhhh!

Yay! All the live recordings all the time!

How about a windows "composer" program that has all the features and a handful of console "performer" programs that use the same save file but only have the options needed for live performance? Then you could spread the love to psp, Xds, etc without such a huge investment.

I had this on repeat for most of 3 hours driving home at 2 in the morning last night.  It was beautiful.

Possible perk for altane preorders?  wink

Chicago was pretty much the highlight of my year thus far.  Totally worth the trip.

I'm looking for suggestions and do/do-nots for building screens for visuals.  My plan at the moment is to make a frame out of 1 1/2" pvc and stretch some white tarp material over it.  I'm aiming for 4'x8' of projection surface on a 4' stand.  Sound reasonable for a decent sized bar venue?

For the tablet look up "My OldBoy!" on the market. Also get a usb or bluetooth gamepad.  Like has been said the touch controls will give you a nervous breakdown.
