Arpeggio Springs is Random’s third release on 8bitpeoples, following 2007’s Bad Joke EP. Nineteen years is a long time, but the sound hasn’t missed a step – or even a tick!
The EP gathers unreleased Game Boy tunes written some time between 2009 and 2013, alongside a couple of newer tracks made for last year’s LSDj 25th Anniversary Party in Stockholm.
Across the collection, the melodic instincts and command of LSDj that defined Random’s earlier work are on full display. From loose, danceable chipdisco grooves, to tracks with a more triumphant, melancholic sweep.
It marks both a return to chipmusic, as well as the start of something new and still unknown.
Chipmusic will never die.
