Yeah, that's what happens when there is too much pressure at a certain point (usually the bottom corners), in this case, along the bottom of the lcd.
Something is pushing too hard against that area.

Questions:
Did you remove the foam off the back of the lcd?
Is there anything that you can identify that is there either right where that spot rests in front of or in back of the light panel/lcd?

I think it could be that the wires should go straight out to the sides, rather than resting on the ribbon cable, or that inside the shell case, the corners need to be trimmed down a little to alleviate some undue stress which is occurring.

I removed the foam completely. Also, I cut the notches for the wires to exit at the bottom and go around the sides. I don't think there is much pressure in the area.

i've seen this happening when doing some research on loca a while back (how its applied in different applications), and that website said this type of issue can be due to two things.  poor quality loca which holds poorly, or the loca wasn't actually cured all the way.  or a combo of both I'd suppose

edit - don't remember the website, but the effect totally looks like that.  in their example, it was around all the edges, kind of crystalline looking tbh

I imagine it is one or both of these. I got the cheap loca from amazon I linked above. I cured in the direct sunlight, outside for about 10 min.

Anyone ever had this happen?

I used loca (amazon), and it looked great the first few days. After a week the crap on the bottom showed up. It is between the frontlight and the lcd. I couldn't clean it off the front or anything.

I've been 'auditing' this class in my spare time at work, on the assignment 'Hello Sprite' smile
