The synth stuff just adds another layer of awesome to be honest, though really it seems to be more of an afterthought to the rest of the features.

it does sound intriguingly full-featured, though. good waveform selection, fm, etc. i'd like to write for it!

necrobumping for the win:

SYNTHESIS. discuss.

play it core!

I know The Advantage and Hella, but claiming that piece is anything but just a straight up well-done VGM cover of The Moon is silly. If "nintendocore" even exists and the archetype is (the awful) HORSE the band, that song just doesn't fit into the mold. o_O

if "nintendocore" is such a loosely defined non-genre, it's hard to really say anything definitive here. all i can say is that i grew up calling bands like the advantage and minibosses nintendocore. i don't think i've ever heard a track by HORSE the band.

It's just a VGM cover?

understatement of the century

A few others here have dabbled with it. I once wanted to do a compilation, but that came to naught because I had to deal with RL shit then (sorry everyone).

this seems like a good thread to revive this idea. anyone else interested in throwing down for a generative chipcomp?

that's a self-described math rock band that plays NES covers

that's not core at all

or is it the most core?

I have a generative house music program on my Amiga but I can't remember the name of it.  sad  Akira would probably know.  It works impressively well LOL.

there's also Paul Slocum's lovely Pi House Generator project. Listen here!

hiii i'm rising from the forum dead/bumping this for 2 reasons:

first: if you're a performer and you're coming to new york from out of town, you should post the days you're going to be here! as it is i dug through chipmusic for this thread to see who would possibly be available to be play pre-parties and after parties. new york is always looking for out-of-towners/fresh faces to perform. JUST A HEADS UP c;

the second reason is to bring competition, duh. also i hope e.s.c. recognizes the furby in the background

i'll definitely be there from the 25th to the 27th (i'm sooooo boring). i can throw down some tunes anyplace, anywhere.

Why did it have to be fucking Vince Clarke and Martin Gore

Also their fans are dicks because they pushed me off my own Last.FM page. Someone put me back in the bio, but now I'm just a blurb hidden in the Read More... section.

thaaaaat's a bummer.
