I'm not surprised by that attitude at all.
There's three major portrayals of chipmusic on the internet:

1.  The YouTube version:  snip
2.  The Facebook version:  snipsnip
3.  An artist's website or label:  [cover art] [title] [tracklist]

Two of those are immediate and possibly permanent turn-offs.  The other is fine but doesn't do anything to explain or promote the scene... which is also fine.

I do number three, and I wonder; is a simple "visit cm.org" call with that album what is needed to make it better?

and again, read up on licenses before you spread someones work on the internet. sharing is caring, but stripping someones work of its rights so it can be used for commercial and political purposes is not.

All's well that ends well, good luck. (inb4 lawsuit from Shakespeare's estate.)

Per a Nintendo vs Tengen case regarding rights to Tetris, it is determined that youthat getting a license from a person who does not have rights in the first place means there was no transfer of rights. I'm not a lawyer, hope that was useful.

Age has nothing to do with anything, it's all about how you spend your time and hone your skill. Good job.

You'd probably get a better result with Toadstool plugin and a Legend of Fuzz pedal.

Fwiw there's nothing wrong with making covers as practice with no intent to release them.

I agree with the NBN's assertion that underground does not exist, because CDbaby keeps sending me spam asking me to recreate a false sense of exclusivity in the interest of driving sales.

I want to add that some of the impulse to "retro computers" is that some families couldn't have a home computer, but as time passes that aspect of chipmusic fades.

Isn't this "musings on a train" again?

It can work but I suggest a simpler project like Thingamagoop first. I decided not to do this sort of thing upon discovering that a Korg Mono* can be had for similar money and less soldering work.

Do you ever or often have to scrap whole mixes because of mismatching?
