Very nice! Beats editing a jpg manually in a hex editor.

Hi! I use a Behringer UCA 202 and it's not too bad. If you install the correct drivers (I think I downloaded them from the Behringer website) you shouldn't have issues there and the latency can go reasonably low (I use it with Renoise). The headphone level control is now a bit noisey but it's probably just dust and it's just for the headphone volume so no big deal. I use this audio interface for three reasons: 1. I don't want to use my laptop's onboard sound which is noticeably noisey and glitchy, 2. I don't have much money to spend on gear and 3. I don't have much space for gear and wanted something ultra portable. Sure, I may 'upgrade' one day but for now it does the trick, so go for it I say! smile

Waveform oscilloscope?! Remember this is a Sega Genesis we're talking about here! tongue

I reckon the algorithm diagram should be more functional and easy to recognize rather than flashy. Keep the design clean and simple - especially since this needs to be clear on a small screen like the Nomad.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I really appreciate it. big_smile

Here's the ROM binary for you. Enjoy!

jmr: wow that is super clean! definitely going to look into that mod.

animalstyle: I've only used a Nomad a little but I recorded a track from an unmodded one and never noticed any noise like you're hearing in that vine clip - strange. Also, thanks for the tip regarding the Genny 3, I might have to pick one up one day. I'm hoping to be able to play live with a couple of Gennys (Megadrives, actually) in the future. heart

Nice update, but I strongly recommend that you add both a diagram of the current algorithm to show the carriers and modulators and as I mentioned earlier, ultimately a graphical display of the envelope, which I'm sure is possible. smile

Also, the readability of that graded red font on a black background might not be so great for numbers.

There will be a cart release first, and we're not so sure the everdrive will support the enormous amount of SRAM that I have designed onto my boards. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.

Well the new everdrive will apparently have 16Mb of SRAM, surely that will be enough?!

i'm guessing you didn't realize that post counts were off on 8bc after late 2008 or so (i know, i was the one who disabled them)

Apparently I didn't - no problem.

freezedream, if you really, REALLY, want to find out, go to the person's profile and click view posts.

Thanks for that but I don't really need to find out, I was just commenting on one aspect of how 8bc compared to chipmusic.org, and e.s.c. has made it clear to me that I actually just have a fuzzy memory regarding 8bc.

Yeah, I agree a bit with Dire Hit - there were some aspects of the 8bc site which were nice, like the charts. I also find it odd that the admins of cm.org have chosen to not show post counts OR how long people have been members. I understand the desire to welcome new-comers and avoid inferiority complexes but I really don't think that would be an issue in this kind of community. Displaying that kind of information can be helpful when seeking / taking advice from people.

The new screenshots looks great! Unfortunately I can't try this out at all right now. sad

One thing, though - it's great that you'll be implementing a display of the current envelope settings for each operator, but I think it would be nice to also display a diagram of the currently selected algorithm as well to make things easier to follow. That should be easier to implement, too as you can just store image data of each algorithm.
