ya, I had the idea as I was building it because I had the LED's next to me on my desk so I thought, hey ive never seen that before im going to try it out!
Ok I seen this in a thread on 8bc, pretty neat-o. As for the power supply its the 5V right?

Total noob when it comes to modding buttons. How did you get the leds into the buttons? And is the power source the 5V?
very small surface mount LED's (about 1mmx1mm) and I drilled a space out for them in the buttons and hot glued them in, as for the control pad, I sanded it down and made a new rocker ball out of hot glue encasing the LED
they've always been this price, unless i made a typo at some point

I think I broke the bottom right corner by pulling too hard...I was doing it in a rush so it makes sense haha. I've gotta post pictures soon haha

I actually have something similar, and I messed up the screen when I backlit it so it looks like I threw it in a freezer for a long time haha
As annoying as it is to write with a messed up screen...honestly, i like the effect it makes visually haha

you should add some clear silicon start/select buttons, and illuminate them too
ya, I was thinking about adding some (only problem is that they are expensive), but when I started building this gameboy I did not have the buttons planned, I just saw some smd's on the table next to me and decided to slap them in!

Just a little something I whipped up before going on a road trip, I used smd LED's and 30 gauge wire, so it was damn hard to solder together, I think it turned out to be really good!
Plug the prosound into a powered speaker unit.
When I plug my prosound into my line in, it is much louder and cleaner than the headphone port, and the bass has a lot more depth to it

Personally, the only things worth it are prosound and backlight. But if you want cool paint ideas I could come up with something for you.
for this one I don't think I'm going to paint the case, im just going to leave it as is
