It's funny, the original song is great but I'm not sure I'd ever have imagined it as an italo disco sort of song but it sounds great like that, too!

The metadata stored in an mp3 like the name of the song and the artist is stored in what's called an ID3 tag. You can use these to embed your album art, too, so that if someone throws just the mp3 onto their phone or other device the album art will display in their music program.

(If you want you can PM me and I can send you an archive of the mp3s with the album art embedded.)

With an IDE to SATA adaptor you can certainly use an SSD if it will fit inside the machine but the speed with be bottlenecked massively but the ancient hard drive controller. If you have an old SSD sitting around it's not a bad solution but a less expensive solution is an IDE to Compact Flash adaptor. It'll be small, inexpensive and easy to pop out to backup or transfer large files.

Installation of your OS will occur as normal, simply boot a windows install floppy or CD.

If they succeed it'll be cool.

My only complaint is that the album art wasn't embedded in the ID3 tag but I fixed that myself. tongue

Great stuff as usual, dude!

I think it's well understood that the LSDJ UI was very, very clever; that it simply represents one of the most powerful input methods for a handheld gaming device and that software on other platforms like LGPT and YMDj are otherwise going to be very much their own applications.

Any chance of a download link for the 0.14 version?

There's enough room in the side of the housing if it's a barrel-type connector.

I recently started designing a 3D printed case for EMS carts, they've got my embossed emblem on them but if people thought it would be useful I could do a version without and post the stl file for others to print.

Yeah, USB has come a long, long way in recent years. You can easily have a USB-based solution with sub-10ms latency, which isn't noticeable.

There really shouldn't be anything wrong with the UCA222 you have. Have you correctly installed any drivers required? Do you have examples of the sound issues you're experiencing with it? I've used both the UCA202 and the UCA222 and they sound perfectly fine.

The calipers are very sensitive, so the dimensions will have a tolerance of about +/- 0.02 mm
This is trivial since the PCB fits loosely inside the shell and the shell fits loosely inside the C64, so no worries. The important dimensions are 4.4mm for the diameter of the PCB mounting hole and 7.7mm for the mounting hole height (measured from the outside of the wall. This is also the height of the small wall you see near the bottom of the shell) These two bodies are where the PCB rests so that it will be parallel with the rest of the shell

Thanks! The mounting hole and dust wall thing were the heights I was unsure of. I'll bang this out in OpenSCAD tonight or tomorrow and post it for those who might need it.

Awesome, thank you. Do you happen to have measurements of the wall heights?

Also, private message me if you want me to print something and send it to you. My printer's bed size is currently only 100mm cubed but I'm in the process of upgrading that right now, in case you need something larger. I can also print something in several parts for you to attach together with glue or friction welding.
