This is the exact switch I used.

Hi,

One question, why do I need a DPDT switch to change the inversion when using a 74HC04 ic?, Why would not a SPST switch do the job?

Do you have a link or something I can use as a reference in order to understand how to connect the DPDT switch to the 74HC04 ic, basically I need to know how the connection goes?

Thanks

With a 74hc04, no. You need a DPDT switch for that. You could use a 74hc86 chip with a SPST chip. Described here:

Thanks, and how the connection goes using a 74hc04 with a DPDT, What cable from the IC connects to the DPDT switch in which order?

Hello,

I want to get information on how to add a toggle switch to hex 74hc04 IC in order to switch from Normal display to Inverted display.

Basically, I want to know If I could use a SPST switch to do that, and if not, I would like to understand why.

Also, if you guys could help me giving me an idea how the connection goes, If I already have the IC installed in the motherboard, what do I do next to add the switch?, what cables to I cut and solder to the switch?

Thank you very much!

I am interested in the Battery contacts for a DMG, my DMG has its battery contacts corroded, and I want to replace them with some that are not corroded, and that do not show any type of corrosion, or problem.

If you have the 3 battery contacts from a DMG in perfect condition I need them, and I am willing to buy them.

Please let me know guys, I appreciate if you can help me out!

Does kitsch sell his gameboy cases with battery contacts included?

I will be but not yet

Ok, thanks!

I do not know if I can ask this here but, Does someone have batteries contacts that would be willing to sell, I need the 3 of them that belong to the backhousing of the DMG, and of course I need them to be perfect meaning that they were never corroded.

Please let me know!

Have you tried cleaning the contacts? Internetz says that baking soda will get rid of the corrosion.

Sure, well I know that is an option but I am kind of picky therefore I always prefer to have everything as new as possible. I want to replace the contacts if that is an option.

Does kitsch sell his gameboy cases with battery contacts included?

Thanks!

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to buy batteries contacts AA to replace the ones that comes in the DMG battery compartment when there is corrosion?

Is it possible to buy batteries contacts AA that fit a backhousing of a DMG?

Thanks

Hi,

What type of sandpaper do you recommend to do this? Specifications, etc?

Looks very nice! May be Purple a b buttons and a mirror frame screen lens would make it look real nice, what do you think?

it also builds nicely unlike endless google searching

I might have a PDF laying around...

Perfect, Would you share that PDF with me?

please please!!

Thanks Matt, That sounds really good!

Thanks for your advise!

it really may help to have some guiding principle though because its a huge world in electronics, so if you don't know specifics about what you'd like to learn, and just want to learn general things, something like an arduino may be up your alley,

its a great way to get into programming and hardware, and there are a shit ton of tutorials out there, and a very warm/large community.

arduino.cc, they're pretty cheap and you can use them as the core of your electronics journey and reap some awesome benefits in the end...

check out the tutorials on that site too, they tell you step-by-step what to do, what parts to get, and what these parts are (and in many cases, what they 'do' in your circuit)

Allright, I definitely understand what you guys mean when you said go google it! ; however, If you do not have a project in mind nor a specific question but what you want to know is the basics of electronics, I mean I can go and google resistor because I know that exists and it is important but I know there are a lot of other devices that I am not even aware of that I could never google because I do not know them.

So, I was wondering if there is a source where you go and can start learning from the pretty basic stuff, something that will start explaining about the different things I should know but I am not aware of.

Google is usefull If I know already what I am looking for, But what I want to know really is what I am not aware of yet!

And well if books are gay for some people then why donĀ“t you show me the  heterosexual way you used to learn this?

One question, I have not gone outside to shop for the 3MM LEDs yet; however, I found some old toys that have some LEDs of different colors inside, pretty similar to the ones that the MGB has( I mean in size), but here comes a question, How would you determine what type of LED is it?, If you found it within a toy and there are not specs nor anything, Is there a way to determine that?

Thanks again!

Hi,

Basically, I am really interested in understanding why if I am going to add a LED to a gameboy I have to use a resistor for example.

Modding gameboys is something that has really caught my attention but not knowing basic stuff like what a resistor is, what a capacitor is, etc makes me feel powerless.

I really want to know if there is a book that I can read to learn about the basics of electronics, etc so I can be knowledgeable in the future.

I know most of you guys have great skills with electronics, I do not know if you took courses or learned with a book, but I really need an advise.

Thanks

Thanks for your help, to summarize, in a MGB could I just go ahead and swap the red LED with a green color 3mm one and that is it, Or do I need to do something else?

Thanks

Hi there,

I was trying to look for a tutorial in order to change the power LED in a DMG gameboy but I could not find anything.

I really want to learn how to do that mode, I think 3MM led will work fine and I know a resistor is needed but I do not know how to perform that mod.

May someone help me out?

Thanks
