of last year, or all time?

Last year:
Get Hyper- monodeer
Dat programming. Dat bass. Dat fun. Such a well-paced, entertaining release
Spacetime Geometry- Galaxy Wolf
A more mature sound from his Team Toothpaste work, a pleasant surprise all the way through, a great range without being cheesy about it. The mix at the end was the sweetest icing on the cake.
C.O.M.P.A.S.S.- Spaceman Fantastiques
The most ambitious chip release I've ever heard of. A unique concept deftly executed, this was so many things I love about music (not just chip) all rolled into one very dense, yet accessible package. In my top 5 albums of last year of all genres and in my top 10 chip albums of all time!

All Time:
Dropping a Deuce- shitbird
I remember when this came out, Arnie said something to the effect of "you should be excited for this." I hadn't heard his s/t, so I replied, I'm not. God. Seriously. I've listened to this album over 40 times, easy. Never gets old. There are other very serious contenders for title "This Album IS Chipthrash." I crown this album that honor.
S/T- Beats of Rage
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo under appreciated. I still haven't heard anything from the chip scene that comes close. (Okay, some of Wage Their Battle, who is also under appreciated. Fuck, and the Stern Fucking Zeit full length. FuckFuck and that Soldier One concept record...ugg I need another list) Such an inspirational album for me. The story, concept, and production come together perfectly to create just the right experience for what they were going for.
Control Me- Jay Tholen
I love good chip and I love good Jesus music and Jay brought both.

My max in the past was 30-40, I think. This year, about 15-20, not counting noise sessions. It's really hard to quantify that when you don't record sessions. Counting noise sessions that inspired recorded or live noise performances, 40 this year.
edit: also, I didn't count stuff I've written on acoustic guitar. Another 10 or so, I believe on the final number. Damn, it was a weird music year for me.
My music production is pretty closely tied to poems I finish. One inspires the other. When I'm on a roll writing music, I usually write more poetry as well.

I'm with Saskrotch. I have been sitting on some tracks for two years doing little things here and there. Dan's got me beat, hard.

what a lovely composition, a treat to hear a modern, well-executed take on classical arrangements

I thought his review was fine. Let's be real; chipmusic is a very small piece of the entire world of music. It is a hard musical concept for most to grasp. This guy did grasp it. He reviewed the release professionally, while choosing his words to acknowledge his audience's likely limited exposure to chipmusic. If someone from inside the scene did a review like that on such a large scale, yeah, there should be some concern.

Over the last couple of years, we've talked a lot about chipmusic presence outside of our bubble.
Yet, we have reactions like this when it happens.
Chipmusic is weird. It will be misunderstood.
Just keep making good shit. Eventually, everyone else will figure it out.

Is it live mode?, or maybe it's Maybelline?

if the only people who are gonna care are those that make it, then there is no issue

Haven't heard anything new in a while on Nanoloop Mobile
Anyone care to share what they've made or have heard released in the last couple of months?

I've crawled into a couple of trashcans while playing

Played a garage show and set up some percussion stuff for other people to hit. Hung up two trash can lids.
got really into it and tried pulling down one of them and the lumber on the shelf they were attached to almost took someones head off.

for a show I wasn't playing, ohhhhh maaaaannnnn? I guess the one time at warped tour I tore my Hawaiian shirt off my back and into pieces.
RIP The Chariot
