I was sort of hoping/assuming the EMS carts used the same basic serial communications tech over USB, could very easily be wrong though. Is there a better/more appropriate bit of software for reading from/writing to the bleepbloop carts under Linux?

Hey everybody, sorry if this has been asked before. I'm trying to figure out how to access my bleepbloop cart under Crunchbang (Debian) linux, and I've been trying to do it with EMS Flasher. Everything seems to be connected okay, but every time I run it it tells me it "Could not find/open device, is it plugged in?" I'm assuming it's an issue with serial communications over USB, but I don't have much experience working with that. Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks!
