I haven't wrote anything under 160 bpm in a while so I'd totally like to write something for this and 'take a break from my norm'.

Re: What's your non-chip musical background? (92 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Mainly metalcore and grindcore type stuff.
From like 1st grade till 7th grade I thought singing was awesome, so I did choir and whatnot... then I realized I couldn't sing for shit (aside from guttural/screaming) and gave up and started playing guitar around the same time.
About 2 years ago after my younger brother became fucking amazing at guitar I stopped playing it to pursue piano... which I'm decent at, just like I am with guitar.
I've been in more bands than I can count since then, none of which worked out because having a band means having band members you have to rely on (which are never reliable).
I've also played trombone and I recently started getting serious/good with drumming...

This is actually pretty good for a first time use.
I like the intro melody a lot.
The drums do need a bit of work, you should definately check out the LSDJ sav vault (http://www.kitsch-bent.com/sav/) and you can really learn a lot from seeing how others do thier drums.

Re: V.A. - THE 8BIT METAL COMP! (17 replies, posted in Releases)
so far my favourite has to be FTF's Devil Wears Prada, i think it converts really well.
*blushes*
But this is neither 8-bit nor metal
8-bit as a music subgenre does not strictly pertain to music solely recorded through a single piece of 8-bit hardware.
"Metal" is a very broad term and just because it's not the same subgenre you prefer it still falls under the same catagory.

Re: Favorite keyboards thread (the typing kind) (34 replies, posted in Other Vintage Computers & Consoles)
For some reason I love this keyboard... I have other ones with media/shortcut buttons and whatnot but I always just prefer this. The keys are really low and quiet, similair to a laptop keyboard, but with the standard button layout.
Logitech makes a keyboard that's set up just the same, but the buttons are kind of soft/rubbery and they have lights underneath, so when this one dies on me that's what I'm moving up to.

If something is wrong or I missed someone, tell me, or get off your bums and register an account so you can edit the wiki. (And don't mess up the layout, mind ya.)I can help generalize these listings. They are a little too specific relating to current stock. Although I currently just have DMG/GBC I list C64, NES and other random stuff, as well as a variety of unmodded items like accessories and junk. Should probably be listed in the above section.
Thanks for showing that nitro. I'll edit this and organize it and whatnot when I get home, using that list for reference.

Re: what's on yer gameboys aside from LSDJ? (62 replies, posted in General Discussion)
A couple friends and I play Tetris pretty competitively... we have a whiteboard with our top scores starting from level 9.
But I'm not a big fan of handheld games, they always get boring really fast... idk what it is about it but my attention span in infinitely longer for an NES than a Gameboy. (Pokemon is an exception though).

Re: 8-bit related online stores (25 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I'd prefer sites that sell more than just 1 item please... otherwise it's not really a store but just a website with something for sale.
maybe also include a few words about what is available on each site
This is a good idea... I may put in a system with numbers after it or something showing what is available.

Topic: 8-bit related online stores (25 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to build a list of all the different chiptune/8-bit related online stores. (Not eBay)
I only know of a few and many people such as myself like to see all possible options before spending thier hard earned cash.
I'll start the list off with a few of my own and update it as you post them... try to only post online stores where you can buy chip music, apparel, accessories and gear... if they begin to get relatively unrelated I guess I can sort them.
