Hi Dan,

I'm too broke to offer your £50 but I can afford to offer you £40. You'll probably get more on Ebay to be fair so it's probably worth listing it there but let me know if you're interested.

Cheers

It's a real shame that this hasn't worked out. My sympathy rests with those who have received goods which are not fit for purpose or have not received anything at all. I suppose one of the two applies to everybody who ordered.

This 'sympathy for the young developer' notion in nonsense. Had the developer positioned this correctly in the first instance then I doubt that they would be facing this stressful situation which they are struggling to deal with. The fact that he is young really makes no difference in my mind.

Essentially, furtek offered for sale a product which was no where near a finished product. Frankly, the product was still within the early development phase. He could have sought donations for research or perhaps sought beta testers who could have helped to meet the cost of development. Had it been made clear that this was the situation then people would not have been in a position to complain. The fact is that his web page did not indicate that they were in an early development phase. Everything suggested that this was a finished product, albeit the first run. It's reasonable to expect that the first run may have bugs but it's not reasonable for them to be unusable or not even sent out, in some cases.

If you launch a business venture you must at least expect to be liable for the cost of setting things up. If the business goes well then you stand to gain through profit. If it doesn't then you can expect to loose your initial investment. That's how business works. If you're not willing to front and potentially loose the start up costs then perhaps it would be more appropriate to seek assistance from investors who could buy a share of your venture or to operate as a charity whereby you can accept donations. I would have happily donated to the development of what I viewed to be an exciting product with great potential.

Going forwards, I would implore any developers, young or old, who wish to sell their product that they have sufficient contingency to ensure that the product at least arrives and is fit for purpose. If you're in a development stage then make it clear that this is the case. If you lack the business acumen to make sufficient contingencies and deal with the most basic of customer requirements then try to collaborate with somebody who can. I'm sure there are established chip tune product developers/shop owners who would have been happy to collaborate on this one.

My post is not meant as an attack on Furtek. I don't think for a second that he intended for the GB303 to end up this way although I must say that he has been incredibly naive and irresponsible in his actions. I congratulate him for finally dragging his head out of the sand in attempting to do what he can to rectify the situation.

As much I doubt it will, I hope that this situation works out for all of those involved.

Power will most probably be the issue. I'm surprised it hasn't blown. I have a 12v dc to power mine. Did the seller mention what sort of power you should use in the listing? It's probably the same as mine. That might explain why the 9v dc didn't work. I just hope you didn't fry it with the ac adaptor. All things considered, don't plug it again until you've tested it with batteries. Hope it works out for you.

Make sure the power is off on all of you devices and plug in your midi and GB link Cable. Turn everything on.

Now put the GB into slave mode, come back to the song screen and press start. The song screen it will display 'Wait' on the right hand side.

You then need to press start on the MPC. Make sure that the have set the MPC to send midi clock to the midi out that you are using to connect your MPC to the LSDJMC2.

There's every chance that your LSDJMC2 unit's LED's are in the same order as this labelled one:

I've just tested mine and the LDSJMC2 does indeed go into LSDJ-SYNC mode once it's done a little light show with the LEDS.

I have a question for all of those who are not electronics novices such as myself.

I want to be able to wire two Gameboys to one Nes pad with a switch to select between which Gameboy the Nes pad controls. I've done some searching and not found anything. Does such a switch even exist?

Wow, just done some Ebay browsing and have discovered that Arkanoid controllers are rare and expensive. Ripping one apart just for the cable would be expensive and disrespectful of gaming history so I guess it's a non runner...

...but this cable (allegedly) has all seven pins connected!:

BOOM!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I have a question after finding this picture of the inside of an Arkanoid controller:

I'm guessing that the cable in the top left is the cable which goes to the NES. I notice that it has six wires. So, could I do the mod using one of these cables with a NES pad and a NES connector by soldering some wires from the 6 active pins of the connector to the points on the Gameboy board?

It's the stuff they use for smartphone screen covers. Some guy that did a GBA frontlight mod recommended using one. I've done the GBC mod with one and it's nice.

Gotta say that from what you say it sounds like it's more than just that, I posted pretty much the same time as APEshit so hadn't read his post before replying...

Did you put an anti reflective film over the GBC screen? If not then maybe try that
