I thought the flat/short leg should be plugged into (or facing) the voltage source, and the positive leg goes to the ground.  Are you certain it should go that way?  I tried placing one LED in the position you describe, and It lit up for a split second.  Though, now it won't do it anymore.  It looked almost like it was burning out.

Oh and I did get the feedback that the code was successfully uploaded.  I've uploaded it multiple times.  Do you think that would affect it?

And about the LED's the side with the flat edge is the negative side right?  Will link a picture ASAP.

Should the code run automatically when it's powered?  I'm powering it with USB.

Dear All,

I've recently acquired all of the parts necessary to assemble an Arduinoboy.  I am using Scienceguy8's instructable:

I'm in the testing phase, and I've gotten this exact setup:

That is Trash80's LED test setup, which I believe to have set up exactly as in le picture.  I've downloaded his code and uploaded it to the arduino platform via the arduinoboy IDE software.  Though, when I power it I get NO light from the LED's.  I believe it could have something to do with the code uploading process.  I've never worked with the Arduino platform before, so that may very well be the problem.  Also, I'm using an Arduino Uno just like in Trash80's photo, but mine looks a bit different.  Could it be that the Arduino has changed since the time of the Arduinoboy's creation?  Is the code out of date?  I'm willing to skype or whatever with someone who has been through this process.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Yours Truly,
JuiceCBean
