Donated! Can't wait for this tracker to be released

Hey there, I would like to thank you for your support. It means alot to me.

Quick update for the entire community. The Portamento Up, Down and Portamento to Note tracker commands are now implemented (Very "fun" to code). I'm now working on the Arpeggio and Vibrato commands. Getting Vibrato to work will be a charm, but I will work on Groove after these are done. Yes groove will be handled separately for each channel. I know quite a few of you folks out there really want this feature. So far though everything sounds great, I think you guys will really enjoy this tracker!

Also, I'm sticking with the name change to Prodigy. Very soon, all threads on the internet will reflect the name change. I've updated the graphics with a sleek new font, and the name is changed within the tracker. But all references outside of the tracker will point to it's name being Prodigy Tracker.

I'm really excited to share this with you guys. Next update will either be a video or a functional demo. It depends on the functionality and stability of the tracker, there's still a massive amount of work to be done.

Thank you for supporting this project, I greatly appreciate it.

To answer your question, we're still in development here. But LSDj is the model tracker for this project. So the things you like doing in LSDj are the things you can expect to be doing in this tracker. But this project aims to push the standard further. There are features I have planned that no other tracker to date uses, features that will be amazingly convenient. Right now I've changed the name, the graphics, added some tracker commands and more is in the works. But when this is all said and done, this project will be a household name in the chiptune movement.

I believe that many amazing musicians on this board now and in the future are Prodigies. This tracker is designed for these people.

No reply could have ever been more informative than this. Thank you.

I have no idea who this so called "prodigy" musician is. Rap and Hip/Hop tend to fall outside of my genre scope.

1) It's an inside joke between myself and another dev from another forum.
2) Check definitions. All of them are the reason why I chose this name.

Oh, I just wanted to play around with some label ideas. Didn't realize it was a paid font.

EDIT TO YOUR EDIT: Sorry, are you asking me not to play around with a label by implying that the logo is trademarked?

No.

I like the name! Great work with the labels Jazz. Any chance I can get the font, or a vector of the text?

Well I don't know what for, I had to pay for the font with a small portion of the donation money.

On a side note:

BAND NAMES AND TRADEMARK LAW - AN OVERVIEW
WHAT IS A TRADEMARK?

A common misunderstanding is the idea that one can "copyright" a band name. While it is possible to copyright the design of a band logo, the band name itself is not copyrightable. Band names are protectable under trademark law, because like "brand names" they allow us to distinguish one band's music and identity from another. They are what enable us to distinguish between a "Beatles" record on the one hand, and a "Chipmunks" or "Wiggles" record on the other.

Yesterday this was already taken care of. YMDj is actually no longer the official title. It's not even anything Dj now.

Wait til you see what I did to it, it looks slick as fu- ... smile

I sent you a PM.

On a very exciting and interesting side note, Stef (the creator of SGDK) and I will be working together to add support for a brand new chip file format he's working on called XGM. It's like VGM but is more optimized. It also supports 4 PCM channels! Yes you read that right. 4 PCM channels, and I will be adding support for this in YMDj.

Seriously can't wait for this, great work!

Hi! Thank you for your support, you guys all make me want to work even harder on this project!

I'm now working on implementing tracker commands as well as effects and I'm taking suggestions. If it's in Deflemask or LSDj, it's probably going to make it in YMDj. Looking for something unique here. Let's make this one of the ultimate FM chip trackers!

Nice work.

From the looks of things, thanks to this community, I'll have available to me a modded Genesis Model 2, a Japanese Megadrive, and a Nomad. This should be enough for testing across different regions and testing between console and handheld, as well as testing on the difference between modded and unmodded consoles. So although I appreciate more offers to send other consoles, it really won't be necessary, meaning I won't accept any more offers on any consoles.

Thank you again guys for your support!

EDIT: I've added a Special Thanks section in the main post. The people in this list are supporters of this project that have either donated, helped with information, offered or offering hardware support, or have given life lessons. This list will grow in size and also be added to YMDj's Special Thanks in the Options Menu.
