Ladies and Gentlemen -

Sound the trumpets - GameStop has chosen the track that they feel best fits their latest spot, "Standoff"!

"gamestop-western" by Chipocrite is the winner.  Take a listen --- it's pretty sweet!

Status of the project: we are wrapping up the final leg of animation ... should be in online to finish in the next week or so.  It'll air and be on Chipocrite's site shortly thereafter.

Thanks to everyone who composed a track ... your efforts do not go unnoticed.  I will be back again (soon, I hope) with another fun "challenge" for you all.

Thanks again.

I am continually amazed at the creativity in this group ... I truly feel there is no task too big for you guys (and gals) to handle.

There are a few messages out to folks who I will need download links from ... for those of you who quickly sent links - thank you!

The selections will be posted for the agency this afternoon.  I should know something later this week.  Expect to hear from me then and if you are "the chosen one" then be prepared for a little more.  smile

Thanks again.
Take care
The Fly

Got it!  Thanks for your help.  TheFly

Here's my submission.  This was a fun challenge!  The song starts out slow and moves into a full gallop by the end.  The main chorus is almost exactly 30 seconds.  I hope you enjoy it!

Hi!  I would love to participate!  I wrote a song that is called, "Bit Kicker."  I was influenced by old western cowboy movies I was watching at the time big_smile  I hope you enjoy it and consider using it!

The bridge also starts at 2:02 minutes.

My track named Excision has a bit of a Mariachi flavor to it at a few points. It's probably higher energy than you are looking for but might still be worth checking out since I haven't seen anyone jumping on this yet. Here's a link;

Another one of mine that has some similar kinds of melody but fits the bill a little better as far as tempo goes can be found here;

Hope you find what you need!

***Edit: It's worth mentioning that I have the flexibility to change the arrangements of either of these to meet your needs.

Do you have a rundown of when the events in the video happen?  Also, what is the run time?  Or doesn't it matter if they match up perfectly?

The length of the spot is :30.  As far as the pacing ... it goes a little slow at first but picks up ... just use the reference as a guide and let your imagination run wild.  Have fun with it.

Hey guys - thanks to all who have submitted thus far.

Reminder - deadline is tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. CST (Tuesday) ... ahhhh ... that's close!!

Thanks again.  I will try and answer everyone who had a question individually ...

Thanks again for your efforts.

Hey guys - It is really good to be back around!  These jobs are a blast and one of the best parts is hearing what the musicians throw into the mix.  I look forward to hearing the ear candy.  Some familiar names in here - lovin' it!

It's TheFly from Reel FX

He's baaaaaaaaack!! (Buck the Bunny that is) ... well, GameStop ... well, you get the point ... I lose track of how many commercials this makes - the clients and customers love the work and you guys are a big part of that - so a BIG thanks.

Scenario:
This time Buck is a small western town minding his own business when he come across a buffalo ... the duel of epic proportions ensues.  Buck draws a gun, buffalo matches.  Buck draws a second gun and the buffalo matches.  Buck the uses his secret weapon - a big-ass cannon that comes out from behind his back and over his head.  The buffalo can not match the fire-power and sheepishly walks away.

Musical direction:
The music direction is simple but fun ... spaghetti western.

Reference:
The slower spaghetti western tunes of Ennio Morricone.

Deadline:
I will need all your music ideas back by 8 a.m. CST Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Payment:
... and licensing terms will be the same as previous work.  1 year buyout for TV, Radio and Web - $500.  As a number of artists have found out, if we revise the spots in the future and re-air, you will be paid the full amount again – a gift that could keep on giving.  In all seriousness, I have paid a guy $2000 total for a track of music - the same track.

Please join in ... let me know if you have any questions.  I will be on here a few times a day to check for questions.

Thanks

8 bit rockstars,

Good morning to you all (maybe afternoon/evening to others).  It took a while, but our client did choose Fluidvolt's "3 Steps to Better Kung-fu" as the official track of GameStop "Wii Black".

Thanks again for all of your submissions and your patience - the reason it took so long for them to decide was that there were 3 tracks they loved.  It also looks like a GameStop spot that was put on hold is about to get started up again - an OxygenStar track was chosen for that.

You guys are amazing!

Thanks again,
TheFly

I tried to approach the subject matter from two distinct angles, and these are the results. Good luck to everyone!
