Lol, I think I know what cart your talking about. Was it a king of fighters cart or something? I almost bought it but decided not to.
Nope, it was a harry potter and the philosophers stone cart There was no screw on the back of the cart though so the front kept falling down, I had to take the screw from an old gameboy game and stick it onto this cart. Oh, and I've found a smartboy cart seller on some site selling @ $1-$2 a piece...emailed them and waiting for a reply now. Let's see if it's legit

Then you will most likely fail trying to make your own carts. It requires alot of SMD soldering.
I can still give it a try, I have a lot of free time after work anyway.

Haha, I came across it randomly on ebay It cost me £5 but at least it looks official with the "Nintendo Game Boy TM" on the front. I've already removed the label on it and cleared the gunk too.
I'll look into the Zeigler cart thing (wonder if I can find a youtube video tutorial) first since I have a soldering iron and some solder in the basement somewhere from a previous project (I'm a novice at this sort of stuff though) so all i'm missing is the components and a donor cart XD and if it fails, I'll just buy the smartboy since I can't seem to find any places that sells the non-USB bleepbloops or ASM's MCB5...thanks kinectic;)

Hi, I got my hands on a green gameboy cart and want to replace the innards with a GB flash cart which doesn't have the mini-usb thing sticking out of the top (don't want to ruin the green casing:P). What are the options available for GB flash carts? I know the smartboy cart's are back in stock but i'm not sure if i can just rip the board out of them and implant it into my green one...
