Here is a cute little general midi synth thing, a Boss Dr. Synth DS-330. It's fully midi capable/multi-timbral so you can just sequence it all from your computer. Works perfect, comes with AC adapter.

Here's what it sounds like, whipped up a quick track:

*Open Mics participants should show up early, participate in the workshop, and make sure they can set their gear up within 30 seconds. You get one stereo 3.5mm cable to plug into your gear. Mics are provided but please no large setups. Keep the performance to a maximum of 5min in order to be courteous to the other performers.

yea thats weird, because you can add to to the cart from your link but on the other link it notes:
