Topic: Logo Graphic & Theme Sound/Song (1 replies, posted in Graphics, Artwork & Design)
Hey all,
A friend and I are re-starting our game-streaming endeavor an we'd like to commission a couple things.
1) Logo Graphic
The name we are using is Survival Mode. We are kind of game for anything at this point, as long as it's kind of fun, but not too wacky. Maybe something like the MegaMan Logo but not as tilted back if that makes any sense.
2) Intro Theme/Theme Song
I really dig the vibes of Chibi-Tech's Wan Nyan Slash intro
https://chibitech.bandcamp.com/track/title
It shouldn't be similar to this, but I like the high energy vibes. Something maybe more jazzy, but something to get excited about.
About 1:00 in length should be just fine. I'd prefer NES or SNES sounding things as well.
Anyways, I'm willing to compensate according to your standards, so just send me a message if you are interested and how much you would charge. I'm kinda new to this commissioning thing, but I can make an offer too if you'd rather have it that way. We can also discuss how and when you would like to be credited.
Thanks!

Update:
I took it apart and really jacked around with the right channel contact. It took about an hour of fiddling but it finally seems to be working well, at least for now.
Thanks for all the pointers! )

corrosion jumps to mind, but
it could be a ton of different things though, all the way back to the CPU.
can you perhaps pan the sound entirely L and R and figure out for sure which channel is out for sure?
i suspect twisting the jack is working because you are pulling it out enough its acting like a mono jack and you are just hearing L.
so, create two different noises/tones/whatever so you can distinguish the channels, then figure out what really happening.
that won't help you fix the problem of course, or really identify *where* its happening, but would at least let you know for sure what the problem actually is. L is out, R is out, if twisting gets you both then sounds like a jack issue, that sort of thing...
Thanks! I will have to try that later. I only have FF Adventure with me atm. I left nanoloop at home :B

heyy
I just received a modded DMG in the mail. It's pretty quality aside from this issue that im having. When I plug my headphones (I've tried multiple sets) into the prosound jack, sound only comes out of one speaker. If I pull it about halfway out and twist it, I can hear sound from the other side. I've tried twisting the connector around in the jack. I've also tried clearing it with a paperclip and canned air. I just cracked it open to look at the wires as well and everything appears to be fine. Should I try a re-soldering job on this, or does it sound like something else?
Thanks so much!

I kinda wonder why it "didn't belong" in the "general discussion" forum :B

Re: Gamergate: Gaming Culture, Responsibility (7 replies, posted in General Discussion)
The misogyny in gaming culture is an issue: http://www.xojane.com/it-happened-to-me -gamergate
I'm with Edward. TBH I've never been a fan of Zoe Quinn. I think the "indie scene" is just as weird and exclusive as the "AAA" scene a lot of the time. That said though, I enjoy a lot of indie games more than I ever have "AAA" games. I am a fan of Anita Sarkeesian though. She really made me re-think a lot of stuff, and I think she is one of the more important voices in game culture right now. I think that gamergate has mostly lost whatever it started out to be, and the people who are truly worried about transparency in games journalism should still fight for that, but also take a look around at those claiming to be on their side and speak up about their rampant and often terrifying misogyny.

Yes it did, surprisingly. The plan is for that to go into YMDj cart testing. So get excited for it.
Fantastic!

Hey y'all. These are kinda silly, but I started selling these pixel art pins on Etsy sometime last year. I don't have much up now, but I'd love to do shirts and stickers as well when I get the time.
Thanks
EDIT:
Whatever supplier I used seriously jacked up the details on the designs, so if anyone has any rad suggestions on pin suppliers, please hmu.
