I hope it's not lame...

They just need to make pink and blue ones, and they'll be set for life!

Consider ASM "set for life" in a couple weeks! wink

Woah, thanks for that ebay link. I wonder if ASM's molds leaked or something?

We were really scratching our heads when these surfaced, especially since there's a clear orange that looks very similar to ours. It's definitely not our mold though. We own the mold, so it can't "leak" per se.

Thanks for the pre-order!

The FIGHTERCART price is to be determined. After we get the quotes from the factory, we'll be able to come up with a suitable price point.

A brief update:

The assembled sample PCBs are supposed to ship any day now. Currently we are just waiting to hear from the factory. All the LE shells are ready for assembly.

Here's a view of the ALTANE cases with texture. Currently we are casting the limited edition green shells.

The cartridge slots have been sent off to the PCB fab for production, we have now put a cap on the amount of pre-orders we're taking. So if you would like to grab the limited edition green shell, now is the time to do so. We will never cast these shells in this color again.

Production has been going very smoothly.

We are now in possession of all the plastic parts.
We are in possession of all the ICs, and have verified them with our prototype.
The final label design in complete.
All that's left is to ship the ICs off to the PCB fab for final assembly.

it says I receive a digital rom once payment received, is this sent soon? I cant wait to try it out on my dmg.

cheers!

Sorry for any confusion, the listing states "Manually emailed to paypal email address after payment". We don't have an automated system at the moment.  Thanks for your patience!

Is it too early to see which musicians will be on the compilation?

Nope, they're credited in the teaser.

Nick Walrus wrote:

Will the cartridges number be printed on them or something?

There'll be a card included with the cartridge with some information and the cartridge number on it, and it may be hand written somewhere on the PCB as well.

Also to my (not) surprise, number 69 is already taken.

69 was one of the early ones to go. One can only assume we have a big customer base of people in their mid 40s.

*ahem*...

Down the road we may auction off some of our prototypes. It's generally not worth it for us to sell them though, because the average prototype runs from $200-$500 USD or more.

Here's the prototype! The final run will be textured.

Going very well. I'm still waiting on the final case sample here, which will hopefully be here today. There was (is?) some problems shipping from China. Apparently everything is being screened, so it caused some delays with this sample. If it's here today, I'll have an update in around an hour.

Once I verify this sample, we can put everything into production, which doesn't take very long. The main time expense was the mold production.

When will you stop the preorders?
I can't get it before November but I really want one.

Shouldn't be a problem. We're going to try and assure that there will be enough for everybody. smile
