Are there any other online music communities you guys are active on, chip music related or otherwise? I look around from time to time but generally just get discouraged for one reason or another, but I figure there must be some good ones somewhere.
Not music but the ben heck forums are pretty crazy. Nesdev is slower but generally really good as well, even for gameboy stuff. And honestly twitter. Most chip guys tweet it seems like. Great way to stay updated.
Renoise forums and sometimes Vocaloid/speech places. I'll read guitar forums for answers but I'll usually find what I'm looking for without needing to post.
I don't do football and motorsport boards so much anymore.
Chipmusic has too many musicians, Vocaloid fandom doesn't have enough.

I typically lurk in most places I visit. What types of music and sound making tools do you like, as I might be able to suggest a couple if our interests overlap.
ucollective.org, battleofthebits.org,
My town is one over from a haven for noise music/noise rock. Also some friends from high school and I are in a folky indie rock type collective. A small bit of online involvement.

facpunch.com for other music, and gaming stuff
battleofthebits.org
I don't know why I forgot to mention but I've been too busy to participate. I should be able to ease back into botb soon.
We have a private facebook group where we talk about equipment and stuff that I'm somewhat active on.
