I'm pretty late to the Android party but it looks like there could be some cool stuff out there if you know what to look for.  So far I've got:

ULoops -- The only "DAW" type program I've found so far
Link:  http://uloops.net/umc/index.php

SID Player -- 'nuf said
Link:  http://www.androidzoom.com/android_appl … _gowo.html

C64 Games Music Collection -- Streams rendered mp3's of sid music
Link:  http://www.androidzoom.com/android_appl … _fijs.html

Frodo 64 --  Emulator
Link:  http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.ab.c64

Also, searching for "midi" turns up some interesting stuff but nothing I've bothered to try yet...
Anybody got some favorites I should check out?

Hmmm, so far I sort of agree.  I'm giving the ULopps app a fair shot tho.  Kinda neat.

Same here.  Must be a "zip file size" problem 'cause if you load only the newest update it works?  Also, as mentioned in the apps comments, it could use some better buffering.  Somewhat prone to stutters etc.

Back from the dead!

So guys I just picked up an Android phone and decided to stick with it because its free.

Any new apps spring to mind?

I would love to use Sunvox on this thing, or even Nitrotracker.

jasuto pro should be out by now... but that's it for now I think. Nanoloop on Android would be really swell, but it's not gonna happen apparently... stupid iphone get's all the cool apps... but why buy an android phone when you can have a gameboy? big_smile

... here is something that got just released for Android: http://www.mikrosonic.com/rd3

Not exactly for ChipTunes, but at least from the same era, a TB-303 and 808 groovebox

Droidsound plays MODs, SIDs, and NSFs, among other things. They have a beta update on their site that plays SNDHs too!
XMP is another android MOD player, but it doesn't do AHXs. Droidsound does.

There is an Amiga emulator called UAE4Droid (which I have not tested yet), and also some NES and Game Boy emulators. I think I remember seeing Apple IIe and ZX Spectrum emulators as well.

And of course AndChat or other IRC client for #chipmusic. smile

Yeah a few of the gameboy emulators run fine........ minus the sound. So be aware

DOXBox got ported to Android (aDOSBox) but it can't do phones without a physical keyboard, yet.

The sad thing about android is that it is so customizable that most people just get caught up in developing custom roms/ui stuff and removing Sense/blur/whatever. The app support is not that great. Dosbox is in a horrible alpha stage, I don't think it runs at all and I don't think it's actively developed.

You'd think that a platform as open for development as Android would get some attention, but I guess most people are just concerned about making money off fart apps. Hopefully with the new changes Google has made the market will start to really mature into something useful. Check out app inventor even if you have no programming experience. It's pretty fun.

MilkyTracker has been ported (unofficially?) to Android since December.
It seems to run fine on my myTouch 4G. I'm not familiar with MilkyTracker, but I managed to load some example songs I found online. The volume is very quiet though.
