This is what I was thinking when I started to use defMON, and I believe there was some other person commenting it here in the topic as well, but after a few years - I'd strongly defend this solution.

Hehe.. Yeah.. I actually agree. It is funny how one thing (e.g. insistence of doing hard restart manually since that lead to more generic code in the player without special code for hard restart) led to another ("extra" step in the beginning of sequences) and how that turned out to be a quite useful feature for some things.

I also seem to remember that someone commented on this at some point in this thread and I think I said then that in a way this is actually just a result of how the sequence data is presented on the screen (and... well... where you end up if you press CTRL+G for example), since the row numbers start at the second step instead of starting at the first step. So.. if someone *badly* wants the first step to actually be the first step, they can simply treat it that way. Of course they will run into problems then, if they want to put hard restart sounds on the first row, but... at least they can. smile

Happy new year to everybody smile i am working on new track in defMON, but i have one question, which i wanted to ask often, but i forgot it. As we know, ordinary sequence/pattern have length from 0 to F, but named is every second line, so at the end it should be 32 lines, but this last line after F is jumping into new pattern, so new pattern is not starting from 0, but from that line above. So for example i have sequence like this, which i have really often

but as you can see, i cannot add that last note because sequence is jumping into new pattern, it is because every line reserve two ticks (two sid calls at one line)?

@martin_demsky There's nothing preventing you from placing A6 note at -1 position. This is exactly what we were talking about with Frantic right above your post. You can also program instrument 65 to play that arpeggio for you, instead of typing enormous amounts of notes in the sequences.

Aha i see it, i haven't read that post, i use arpeggios often in second sidtab call, but these are normal notes which i don't know exactly how will be in final version.

But i will leave that note after F as unused/resting, it is not that important.
