I had some creative time spent with LSDJ and the result is here:

But I have the feeling that the song somehow builds up to nothing. no musical fireworks.
What is the hidden secret, which I'm missing here?

There's no kick and I can't tell if the noise channel is a snare or a hi-hat. Those two elements will at the very least add a framework to make everything feel more together.

For the snare try adjusting the shape in the noise instrument to give it some snap.

For the kick, I like to have a Triangle on the Wav channel, Manual mode, and then a table with a P command set to around CE and K command where ever it sounds best.
