The layout, whilst nice and new and shiny, doesn't seem really suited for long-term browsing. Is there any chance for a more subdued theme?

Yeah your problem is you have one of those gigantic laptop with the too-high of a resolution for the screen size eh? just do the whole Ctrl + to increase the size
