Why?
Because people feel like sharing what they've done?
I think it's amazingly progressive. It's often stated that this community is just musicians writing music for other musicians. So, why not share these links with each other and, effectively, share it with people we know?

I can understand sharing links to social networking stuff, I shared my own, but to call yourself and others "amazingly progressive" for doing so is a bit unnecessarily self-congratulatory.

Understandable, but what I meant was simply the act of establishing connections via other people is progressive. A pass it on type of connection; word of mouth. I don't claim to be progressive, nor have i ever, haha.
