Hey guys. As the title says, I am pretty much entirely new to this, although I am extremely interested in learning to make my own songs. I just feel overwhelmed and I have no idea how to actually make the sounds I want. I followed this tutorial (http://8bc.org/wiki/index.php?title=LSD … Sabrepulse) and made this incredibly basic song (http://soundcloud.com/ihopeicaneditthislater/songtest) but I still feel like I barely learned anything.

Does anyone know of any tutorials that are really great for getting the hang of making your own sounds or other necessary skills? Any tips or anything? I know this is a really general topic but I just feel quite lost and confused.

I want to create a song that sounds like a dream kind of, starting off slow and light, then getting faster and intense towards the end before slowing back down again right at the end. If I can manage to make this song, I hope to one day make my own album.

Do you play any "classical" instruments? Like guitar, piano or whatnot.

It takes an incredible amount of "real" musical skills to create a beautiful piece of music.

And it also requires an incredible amount of dedication, passion, and time.

And obviously the ability to hear, articulate, and think inside as well as outside the "box".

The best way to learn how to write songs with LSDJ is to use LSDJ.

Use LSDJ as much as possible, read the manual, research on the internet and then play LSDJ some more.

It takes a long time to master any instrument.

LSDJ is a musical instrument.

Play it passionately and someday you will have the ability to create something amazing.

Your favorite musician didn't become your favorite musician by sitting on their couch watching TV.

Your favorite musician became your favorite musician by playing music passionately, with all their heart and soul.
