The battle thread got me thinking. I want to do something similar, but because I don't want it to be a total rip off, there's all kinds of new... things? I dunno whatever.
PROCEDURE:
Throughout the week, people will post in this thread with one of two things:
1) I want to take part in this competition (there are no prizes, just INTEGRITY)
2) I want to suggest a theme for a battle (super dumb theme ideas will not be included and also publicly ridiculed, by me, maybe others)
I will straight up write this stuff on actual paper (i have some), and put the torn up pieces in an actual real life hat (it is a felt top hat), and basically just set up the battles.
I'll post all this stuff at Midnight on friday (Meaning one miniute after 11:59 PM on thursday) and close submissions at 11:59 PM Sunday. This'll be done in central time, cause I'M THE BOSS. All participants need to post or PM me an email address, because I'm going to email all the info out too, just incase you forget.
then, i'll set up polls for each battle. people will have from midnight monday to probably about 11PM thursday to vote. the winners from that will be placed ONCE AGAIN INTO A HAT, and we'll do that until we have a winner, who will be crowned king of the nerds.
ADDITIONAL RULES
themes have to be limited to ideas / concepts / etc, as it would be unfair to impose any kind of hardware limits.
sample packs should be fine. I'll create an lsdj kit from them just in case. but any participants that can't update their LSDJ roms / can't use samples should mention that in their inclusion. i might take a bit of the random pairing elements out for people who can't use samples (old ems carts, nanoloop, etc.)
sunday night i'll be like SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED, but will allow probably 20-30 minutes for people with slow internets uploading and such
i'm only going to take part in these when there's an odd number of participants
the first one will start a week from today.
and i will add stuff as i think of it / as it's suggested
or maybe we won't do it cause no one cares. YOU DECIDE.
