Not necessary but I think it would be cool and streamline my live set up. For instance I'd rather have controls straight on the synth then through a MIDI controller. It would make using something like LGPT a lot easier as I could just send note CC's and then have a CS to control the instrumentation - which is just my preference. What jumps to mind would be like pots for ADSR, duty cycle(?) or other modifiable aspects of this chip. The demo sounds really great so I'd be interested no matter what!
There is no duty cycle control as such - and each voice per se doesn't have heaps of customisable features. For example, the generator only works on two of the six voices, and the two noise sources can only be controlled by the frequency of two voices or it can be set to two set frequencies. So as such, to my mind it makes more sense to just have a "magic box" as you say.
However, I am not aware of LGPT works - is it not able to send MIDI CC data?
Thanks, that clears some things up a bit. Yeah LGPT can send MIDI CC's but I try to not overly complicate the MIDI section of it and focus more on the actual sample tracking.
I've made a sample pack of this chip.

thanx little-scale.
i love your sample packs.
Cheers wedanced! I hope that they are of some use to you
Yes. it's a cool machine.
Some people from Sinclair's company have left it to make a new ZX Spectrum compatible model by themselves. What is interesting, Sam Coupe wasn't a developed version of ZX 128K, but it was a developed version of ZX48K.
Of course contemporary it can also handle Spectrum128's programs but that's a different story of nowadays coders. http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/s

It would be nice to have one however they are most rare and _really_ expensive.
