Hi all!
I gave a lecture on the history of video games last week at a drinking and nerdy lectures event in Brooklyn, and it went over well enough that I've been asked to give it a few more times around town. I thought it would be awesome to collaborate with a chiptune artist on a live soundtrack and have them follow up with a performance. Here's a link to a video of the talk; please check it out if you're interested or pass it on to any peeps that you think might be game. Thanks!

Someone in NYC should definitely get involved with this. It's a really fun, interesting lecture.

Planned on just checking out the first couple of minutes, sucked into watching the whole thing!
such a great lecture and having chip music synced would only improve it that much more!
I really hope someone in the area will help you out!

My goodness, you guys are the kindest. Thank you.

If it's easy for you to drop even just that first line onto the youtube page, so artists that come to the video from a few other places I've posted can see it, I'd be most grateful!

If this comes together I'll definitely share version 2.0 here!

Maybe a DJ would be the way to go? I might be able to help out with that...

That is a good call. I was definitely thinking to have the musician DJ their music and some SFX live, but maybe the DJing in really more than half the batte.

well if you decide to go with a DJ I can do that. I DJ mostly original chipmusic but if you wanted to set up a setlist of VGM for the presentation we could work that out.

That was great. When you started talking about the lifespan of the NES and then the gameboy popped up, I was expecting LSDJ to appear on the screen and start playing sweet music. sad

I can't wait for the soundtracked version. I was not expecting to actually sit through the whole thing, but I got hooked at the Konami code.

Hmmm... if DJ stands for disc jockey... does LSDJ stand for LIttle Sound Data Jockey?
