So, Low-Gain did a pretty hefty interview with the website GeekParty. It's split into several segments, and here are the links:

Part 1:
http://geekparty.com/low-gain-interview … it-legend/
Logan talks about his personal history with chipmusic.

Part 2:
http://geekparty.com/low-gain-interview … ollective/
Logan gets involved in 8-bit Collective and plays Blip Festival.

Part 3:
http://geekparty.com/low-gain-interview … sic-scene/
The LSDJ cartridge comes to America. Conflict arises.

Part 4:
http://geekparty.com/low-gain-interview … ctive-ban/
The 8-bit Collective ban/founding of chipmusic.org

Part 5:
http://geekparty.com/low-gain-interview … ollective/
What's Logan been up to since his 8bc ban?

I actually dropped out of the scene in maybe 2010 and never really caught up with whatever happened to 8bc and the ethical/legal issues with Jose Torres and the BleepBloop carts. I also never really wanted to ask.

So, it'll be cool to have some sort of definitive answer about that.

Updated. Part 3 is now live. Looks like we'll have to wait one more day to read about the 8bc ban, but Part 3 looks at the Jose cart scandal a little bit, which is pretty interesting.

'There was a lot of drama going on. Jose designed that board, but where did he get that initial code for the first round of his version of the cart? I don’t have any proof that he took the code from them, but, I mean, it was pretty obvious that he had.'

i dont think he was payin attention to the threads on 8bc that detailed all that shit, cuz it was very clear at the time that the code was taken from the polish guys..logan thought they were like german or belgian or something.

I think he could have been speaking in a rhetorical mode or been misquoted. I'm pretty sure he and everyone else know where the stuff came from.

This is great stuff.  I love hearing his back story in particular because he and Stefen are the reasons I got into chip music in the first place.  I saw Stefen playing around with his Game Boy at a new years party and thought, "I need to learn how to do this.  I asked him about it and he led me to Logan's site.  Logan sold me my first gear: 2 EMS carts and a transferer II as well as pro sound modded Game Boy.  He was so nice he even gave me a free copy of his self-titled CD.  It's great, go get it.  This interview should outline his contribution to the mods and peripheral gear that is now almost standard.  He's a beast of an engineer.
