So for a music project, I need to fit lyrics with chip. I don't want to sing either. So. I was listening to "This is the Hook" by BSOD, and Steve and Joel use some form of voice simulation program to get a robotic sounding voice. Can anyone help with this? I need some form of freeware where I can control the timing of the voice. I have a link for the song: This is the Hook BSOD
Thanks
This sounds very much like a simple text to speech (MS Sam?). You can usually adjust pitch and speed in those. Shit Talker is another: http://unaesthetic.net/st/dl.shtml
There are a few VSTi out there (free & $$$), just google speech synthesizer.
This thread has good links: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/3679/ is-thread/
There's also a small programm for nintendo DS. I think it is called DSspeech.
the text to speeeeech that was in a version of Fruity loops was pretty good for robot singing, choosing notes and exporting. ive not used used fruity in 10 years though, so i dont know if its still there.

Great. I just looked at their sites half hour ago ...
this is only for Mac :-(
are there any other like them?
or like http://www.ixi-audio.net/ ?
You can take any speech source and give the impression of singing with the appropriate use of a pitch shifter, see http://forum.renoise.com/index.php?/top ntry281786

That's a cool idea. Gotta try that sometime.
If you know a lot about vocal anatomy, then you might like Praat...
I have actually settled for Shit-Talker. It is quite basic to use and is really all I need. And I don't really know much about vocal anatomy.
What version of Mac OS do you have to emulate to run this? It says that Classic mode is no longer supported when I try to open it.
I've often used "Microsoft Talk it!" (talk it!.exe) that was part of a Windows 95 or 98 Plus pack I believe.

nload.html <-- no guarantee that the download will work, I'm now on a Mac.
It has voice presets that can be tweaked. The "sung" option sings stuff at semi random piches, but if you set it to monotone you can set the pitch manually (especially nice with the big robot voice) ... I dialed in the pitches manually for the notes I wanted it to sing and combined the recordings in audacity. It has no export, I just recorded the system sound.
