Baktun

The Maya Long Count Calendar uses Baktun to represent 20 Katun cycles which is about 394.26 tropical years. On December 21, 2012 the current (13th) Baktun will end and, according to some, the world with it.
The main focus of the song is to celebrate the end of the 13th and the beginning of the new cycle with a middle section dedicated to the supposed end of the world.
