I'm a php/javascript programmer and I've also been playing in punkrock/indie bands for about 15 years now. I've just gotten into chip music a few weeks ago. I'm currently learning how to use NTRQ. The learning curve is quite steep considering where I come from but I'm having a lot of fun!
