I owe a lot to of my LSDJ knowledge to taking Danimal Cannon's advanced LSDJ class at the last nyc blipfest. I highly recommend this long tutorial he did also which covers a lot of advanced stuff and many similar stuff he went over at the class I watched: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAgM3KNhSLc
It doesn't hurt to have an ear or some music theory knowledge as well. 
This is very, very cool. is there any chance i could get a bit of a tutorial on how you made the bassline that starts at 1:57? if this is your second song you are lightyears ahead of me in talent lol.
