BedStuy Banger

BedStuy Banger

By Zen Albatross on Apr 20, 2010 10:39 am

This jam is about waiting to get on food stamps while living in one of the shittiest neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

It's a bangalanger.

dood, this is heavy stuff. it sounds like brooding anger about to explode. really really really good!

I like this! Also I live in Bed-Stuy.

This is the jam. Hits hard. Especially from like 1:00 on - great instrumentation and use of rests and stuff.

btw awesome tune and I have been there man.

I pictures earthbound style sprites waiting in line at some govt office. mouths open to the weird sounds.

It is from experience, yes. I almost starved to death during my first year of living in NYC. Then I got mugged. Then I got arrested.

Then I got better.

This wouldn't be from experience would it? I think this song certainly conveys the frustration, anger, and powerlessness of such a situation, and as such is very difficult to listen to without having such emotion become overlay for your thoughts. So, it's quite laudable, but not exactly what I'd call enjoyable. But some music need to defy the notion of "enjoyable" when the inspiration it right.
