bossFYTE is an experimental electronic music duo formed in 2008 by Toronto locals Beatill Blocher and Pete OHearn. Generally considered to be IDM in style, their music seamlessly weaves elements of Breakcore, Ambient, Braindance, Chiptune, Musique Concrète, and "Robot Pop".
bossFYTE is an audio/visual experience, layering video-music, backing visuals, and on stage theatrics into a synchronized Ludovico technique. Their musical process combines the traditional recording of analog synthesizers and circuit bent instruments, with the hyper detailed automation and programming of VST instruments, continuously re-working chaos and noise into a carefully crafted experimental pop.
Since their emergence, bossFYTE has rocked the socks of several thousands... from it's extremely successful guerilla style performance at Scotiabank's Nuit Blanche, to placing 3rd in their first public appearance at Toronto's notorious "Videodrome". Their debut release "Top Score !!!" is already making waves, not only with it's genre-defiant sound, but it's innovative USB game cartridge format. Blurring the line between digital distribution and functional product, it's hand crafted re-purposing of obsolete technologies is indicative of bossFYTE's meticulous process.
