oscillating says:
Oh man! Now my interest is immense! It was like N64 music style wackiness and a life of substance abuse.
You just need some kind of sample sequencer and some ripped n64 samples. Figure out how to make your own samples that sound "that way." I hope this person is the next flavor of the month, cause I would LOVE to see this. Like pop culture randomness with someone vomiting "cuteness." Awesome.

It can do a lot of cool stuff (including fm synthesis)

toasterpastries says:
herr_prof wrote:

Buy fl studio or reason and use simple analog synths then.

Basically this... if you just want chip-like sounds, you can do that in almost anything. It's just simple synthesis.
If you're talking about making actual chiptune, then we're talking about abandoning the comfort of modern DAWs and MIDI and learning how to use trackers.
Either one is great but if you're just looking for chip-like sounds, your DAW probably has them already.

dashingz says:
I would like to get into chiptune music creation. I own a Digital Music Piano Keyboard. I find the music nostalgic, new, and have immense interest in getting into the field. I'm wondering what programs can create good sounding songs, and how to use them. I have some knowledge of Famitracker, but I don't like how it sounds. I'm looking to find out how to make music such as this- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-HTtAFDIfQ. I have the enthusiasm and the time to do so, but I'm not sure where to start.
