MMMMMOOOGGGGGSSSSS ! ! ! ! ! smile

BTW that PSP...

Use MILKYTRACKER on MAC or PC...
http://www.milkytracker.org/

and MILKYPLAYER on PSP (for live DJ gigs)...
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=300 … amp;page=0

MILKY is supercool /sample/ music tracker (lot of channels, nice editing etc etc)...

Or here is PROTREKKR with build in synth (PC,MAC,PSP)...
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=50409

LittleGP is nice but MILKY or PROTREKKR are more powerful...

Give Piggy a try. Definitelly.
I use both, LSDJ and LGPT, it's not too different in look / control / commands.
I really like some Piggy abilities.

Hell yeah! So it isn't too different than LSDJ? Should I halt my LSDJ learnings and jump into this?

Reorganized everything, now it's a music corner:
Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer
Mini Kaoss Pad
Kaossilator
Akai XR20
Monotron
Nebulophone
1 Modded DMG, 2 gbp, 3 gba sp
Microkorg (added a strap for live)
Yamaha sh-10 and Omnichord om-300 as controllers
and there's a little stereo spectrum analyzer in the corner.

Next buy: Shruthi. Excited. :]

Tell me more about your Akai XR20. Looks interesting. Can it sequence external MIDI devices?

I haven't gotten too far into it but it can. To a very limited degree. I've gotten it to play basslines but the process took too long to me. I bet with more practice it could be easier, though.

That isn't strictly true. For modes of transport without power sockets, you could use an MPC500 and those with power sockets (like some trains here in the UK, at least) you could use any MPC. Size and weight are a different issue, though.

That and, also, making music in public transport is greatly overrated. I can't think of a more inadequate place for inspiration/concentration/creativity.
Long distance trains are probably the only mobile medium where it's cool to make music.

Most of my music writing happens on my 1 hour train ride between Princeton and New York City. If that's what you consider long distance, then I guess you are right.

I mean mass transit. As in commuter transport. With "long distance trains" I meant really long distance, 1+ hour, european style trains (you ain't got that in the amerrikuz on 1 hour trips ;P).
If you can use it awesome for you. For me, neither the ambient nor the available tools in such situation would inspire me to do anything worth my time.

However, I made I think all or most of Red October while jumping cities on Swiss and Dutch trains.
