it sounds great, but is probably overkill if you arent recording fancy things with a complex acoustic sound.

A lot of money for moderately small I/O. If you're still down for Apogee though, you could probably pick up a used original Duet for a good price by now

for real! focusrite have the best sounding preamps for their price range imo.
apogee make amazing high-end gear but somehow i doubt that they put their a-game into that interface.

my freind has one and it sounds good to me. it doesnt matter its over priced really. you already have an over priced mac anyway.
