Exactly. The beauty there is you get to draw contrast and put a focus on the quality of the original composition even in a fairly rudimentary rendering, as well and the expressive quality of well-done sequencing and programming.

If we wanted to be super snobs, we'd refer to really good "8-bit covers" as "Nintendo/C64/Whatever Arrangements;" successfully rendering a well-known song on such a radically different instrument requires a lot of work.

I'm just pissed because this is my only source of income right now because all the local HR offices can't find it in their hearts to call me back regarding an application.

This guy stole my time and effort, I wish there was a way that we could avoid these issues.

To be honest, it's fair (and usual) to ask for half of the money upfront, to show that the buyer is serious enough about it for you to start work on the project. I personally don't lift a finger until that happens. Sorry that you guys had to learn that lesson the hard way.
