Well, actually I have a PC with Windows 7 and I managed pretty easily to install the EMS cart drivers. It's not that difficult, it's just that 7 sucks when it comes to install drivers manually and you have to search around for the right function.

I use Win7; it's a pain to get set up yes; but I mean take a few hours one day; get it figured out, and then you're solid. I'll second that mods will come when you're ready, I did my first album on an un-modded GBC. I would recommend starting on a Gameboy though, emulators just never did it for me. I still can't stand using them, a gameboy just has a better feel somehow.

For the eight-millionth time, you can flash your cartridge on a Mac (and Linux), free and easy.
I actually find it easier than using a Windows machine to flash the cart.

I'll have a tutorial up in the next few days or so.
