Your pieces look great, but try playing with adding more colors. It seems that you are only using about 2 colors for each area, so working with more, not too much, may make shading more defined and allow you to practice more with more techniques to define texture.

i think some of the black outlines in that picture are a bit distracting. not everything needs black outline!
but apart from that it is good
