I was just thinking earlier that there must be an easy solution along these lines (cases for various bits of tech), and came to the conclusion that cases for hard drives are perfect 2.5" for CGBs/MGBs and (some, I assume) 3.5" ones for DMGs.
Currently keeping my Colours in some 2.5" hard drive foam slipcases and throwing them in whichever bag I'm taking with me. It's certainly a step up from old socks anyhow.

Turns out my phone's box works almost perfectly too. 
Wouldn't mind having a little more padding or something though.
